Bilkis Abdulraheem Lawal is a seasoned broadcast journalist with over a decade of experience in radio journalism. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Ilorin.
Her journalism is rooted in a strong commitment to social impact, with a focus on maternal health, sexual and reproductive health rights, gender equity, children’s wellbeing, public health, and environmental sustainability. Through powerful storytelling and investigative reporting, Bilkis works to amplify the voices of underserved communities and advocate for meaningful change.
She is the recipient of the 2024 Prevent Epidemic Journalism Award from Nigeria Health Watch and a proud alumna of several prestigious fellowships, including the Media-EIS Fellowship, Dataphyte Gender Mainstreaming Fellowship, and the Lagos Business School’s Health and Environment Awareness Program.
Bilkis also leads a personal nonprofit called “BAL-QUEEN Initiative” which is dedicated to supporting underserved females including the female inmates at Kirikiri Correctional Centre through hygiene education, health awareness, and community support.
