She is a public health professional, serving as a Senior Surveillance/Emergency Preparedness and Response Officer at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC).
She has over four years of extensive experience in public health early signal management, surveillance, emergency management training programs, and emergency preparedness and outbreak response.
She has led various initiatives, including public health intelligence gathering, capacity-building and simulation exercises at the national/subnational levels.
Sylvia has advanced skills in Modelling infectious Disease, where she provides data-driven insights and made policy phasing recommendations to strengthen the health security of Nigeria.
She’s passionate about influencing discourse to explore gender-responsive approaches in emergency preparedness and response, through stakeholder engagement and collaborations.
